Aroha in my Whanau

WA describing aroha in our whanau

My family comes from the Philippines. My dad is tall and he works at Air New Zealand airport. My mum is busy too. My grandma is wealthy, healthy and humble and she works really hard in the house.

We get up at 4.30am to go to Tita Terry. My sister is sixteen and she can drive. She cares alot about fashion. My little brother is caring, loving and cute and everyone loves him. My dog is the most dribbliest dog in the world but he’s great.

During the holidays we all went to Tauranga to meet my friends, Joshua and Luke. We had great fun. First we went on the train but it was a small one and it felt like guns shooting. Josh, Luke, Ezekiel and I pretended we were shooting guns and we were in a war. Afterwards we went to a park to have a play.

Later we all enjoyed eating ice creams and on the three hour trip home we all felt peaceful and happy.

My favourite family saying is: “There’s no place like home.”

My favourite aroha symbol is:

table tennis experience

At lunch time yesterday we had table tennis. There was a man named Dinyar who works for table tennis New Zealand. He taught us how to hold a table tennis bat and some basic skills. We all were listening well and it was interesting. He inspired us how to play table tennis. The table tennis balls were light and orange and very bouncy. By the way in the beginning we all gathered together for a selfie.

Then we had a competition and it was about balancing the ball on the bat for the longest time. There were  3 or 4 rounds. At first it looked easy but when we tried it we... um we all almost failed but there were still 6 people standing. One person went out  then the third, the fourth, then the fifth. Eventually here were 3 people standing and then two other balls fell!. AND ONE PERSON WON!!!!!. It was Chadwick.

Second round - i was concentrating on the ball and it was so tense. I was so scared that my ball fell!. All the other people were confident - 5 people lost their balls and they were out. One person lost the ball and the person who won the first round won AGAIN!.

The third and final round. We all went hard and all the other people fell. I was not out yet but sooner or later my ball fell. My ball lost balance. and then mine and other peoples' balls fell. It was down to two people AND SOMEONE ELSE WON. We all cheered. Now it was time for him to go and

the bell rang.

Revaling my feelings through art

A few weeks ago this term I drew my self portrait and made it look like ME. First we did the face outline and found out where to put the eyes, nose, ears and lips. I coloured it in using wax crayons. Then I added in my black hair on the portrait. AND THEN IT REALLY LOOKED LIKE ME.

Another day we made the background. We did it with white wax crayons and we had to use white wax crayon on a white paper to draw feelings. Then we painted it with blue dye. It was hard work BUT worth it!. it looked really cool in the end.

My favorite part was drawing the hair.

One of my blurbs were "when I feel marino/calm I meditate in peace."

Blog Profile - Eldrich

                                                          My Blog Profile

Hello, Kamusta. My name is Eldrich and I am 8 years old.  Also, I am Filipino but I was born in New Zealand. I have a younger brother called Ezekiel and an older sister called Francesca.

I go to Saint Patrick's School. I am in Room 6 and I am in year 4.

At Saint Patrick's, I really like to do math especially division. During lunch breaks, I like to hangout with my friends and eat my lunch with them and play outdoor games. At school I really enjoy Art because I love drawing characters from my favourite animated cartoon shows.

My favourite thing to do at home is to go on my device and watch Bob Ross on Twitch or play my Spider man game on my console. My favourite food to eat is Kentucky Fried Chicken with the yummy tomato sauce and the crispy, salty chips on the side.  My goal to achieve is being an artist, like Bob Ross.

Chicks in Room 6

For the last two weeks Room 6 has been lucky enough to have chicks in the classroom. They came as eggs and were put into a warm incubator before they hatched. When we saw them hatch it was so cute! They were regaining energy and on the third day WE GOT TO HOLD THEM!!! It felt weird because the feet were scratchy and they were pecking me. We had to keep them safe by not squeezing them too much or letting them fall.

They grew a bit bigger over time. and all the other children in the school got to see them too. On the last day it was so sad that the chicks had to go and three people were crying.
